cleaning up the car = good
children actually helping clean up the car = better
cleaning out the car, taking out almost everything we usually keep in the car (to make room for a carpool to a dance and then a carpool to a game), but then remembering to put them back in the car (after said carpools are done) so you have them when you need them = best
children helping to take things out of the car, put them who knows where, in an excited rush for the activity we're going to that I wanted the car emptied and cleaned up for, or children just annoyed that they have to help and not really paying attention to what they're doing, and then completely forgetting to track down needed items and get them back in the car and not having them when needed later = NOT best, NOT better, NOT even good (at least I found my whistle again!)
