today was very nice.
accomplished little, forgot all sorts of things,
but overall we had less arguing (or maybe I ignored it better today),
- I drove Michael into town this morning and then back to the elementary school and then I got to just STAY there ALL day (other than a quick trip to the little market), heaven,
- when we arrived at school the aroma of Miss S's fresh bread baking perfumed the whole upper side of the school (the only thing that should EVER be used as scents are real foods or real flowers/plants),
- got to work at the book fair - love the library,
- I got school lunch today - YUM, and I actually got to sit for a bit to eat it, we get the BEST school lunches - salad bar with fresh lettuce, spinach, veggies, and fruit and Ms S's salsa with cilantro and today - fresh jumbo size soft yummy rolls and turkey and mashed taters with bits of the skins and her nice-not-yucky gravy (poor Michael only gets the high school lunches now),
- got to be "the lovely assistant" when Jessica did her excellent presentation on Mars (I got to hold up the paper mache/clay masterpiece as she described the wonders of our neighboring planet),
- got to "judge" Nathan's debate in GATE,
- turned in papers that HAD TO BE TURNED IN BY TODAY,
- we got to eat a free dinner together outside,
- got to hang out with other families,
- kids played,
- grown-ups visited,
- weather cooperated beautifully,
- got to watch Jacob and his classmates sing about each being a flower in life's garden with huge paper flowers surrounding their adorable faces, got to help with the music - I only had to put correct CD in and push play - it was the first song,
- got to help another class when they asked me to insert their CD and push play for their song - it was #8, no little window on CD player hooked up to speakers showing which # is playing, pushed skip 8 times, wrong song blasted out of speakers, got the correct song after several more attempts, no one mad, everyone happy and understanding,
- Michael got to just play at his old stomping grounds (they don't get to just play at the high school),
- Jessica won a plate of cupcakes,
and today little people ran up to me and hugged me and/or they introduced me to their families before running off to play,
- Jessica's arm much better,
- everyone healthy, not even rotten hayfever today,
- got to just be a mom, a volunteer, and a staff member at the hub of our little community and one of the happiest places on earth (wish they'd just add on a little charter high school),
a really nice day - the kind of day that refuels souls
